Collage It!

An unusual request sprang from Open Studios...to illustrate a children's story about a war between red and grey squirrels. Lots of sketches later we decided on the style of Eric Carle creator of the Hungry Caterpillar so it was collage playtime! So much fun - painting tissue papers, snipping and tearing and sticking...I'm now using collage as  a way to process ideas, try out compositions and tones. Checked out Hannah Hoch again and dug out some magazines from the 1950s and 1960s. These are all works in progress.
