Not sure how this happened but I'm involved in three events in June at the same time as looking after various dogs while their owners are on holiday. In danger of confusing them all....
First up is the Beach Clean at Cellardyke Harbour (9 June) to tie in with World Ocean Day (8 June). This is part of my desire to engage with communities wherever my art is on show - bringing together big ideas with practical action! Supported by the Scottish Coastal Cleanup and Gallery 495, it's set to be a fun morning. How much litter there is to collect depends in part on the weather - sudden storms churn up all sorts. Good weather and we might not find much so we can turn our attention to seaweed and making stuff. Second date in the diary is the screening of Why Not Scotland/ on 13 June at 7pm at The Steeple, 67 High Street Newburgh. This is a new film made by Scotland The Big Picture which looks at the depleted Scottish landscape. The main protagonist Flo from Glasgow visits various projects in Europe to find out how the re-introduction of forest and creatures such as wolves beavers and lynx are working. She asks whether the same could work in Scotland. The film will be followed by a Q&A with nature writer Jim Crumley and Conservation Officer David Tollick. Limited places so email me if interested. The third event is at Adam Smith Theatre Kirkcaldy on Saturday 29 June 12.30-4pm. It is a screening of Seaweed Women followed by discussion. A seaweed craft workshop with me takes place 2pm-4pm. £30. Booking for workshop essential. Email me!
