Great news is that having won the Enterprise Challenge in November, I then took part in the bigger event - the Venture Challenge last week. After pitching live in front of four judges, we had an online Teams final on Friday evening. Quite a week! I As well as getting lots of interesting and thoughtful advice, I came runner-up adding £250 to the earlier prize of £750. So £1000 will be used for market research, prototype development, to set up a website and an online shop. And of course it's seaweed which is the star of the show!
Whether covered in matt black graphite, shiny black lacquer or recycled copper and one day silver, it really is a talking point. All I need is a workshop or studio space as my kitchen is tiny and not ideal! Now I'm cracking on with the support of Creative Scotland's Crowdfunder campaign - watch this space! It will go live the second week of March. Also reviewing the name - from ALGA to TANG - a Scots word for seaweed! There's a dummy website here - www.sea-tang.com and this is the idea for the logo. Comments and feedback welcome!
